My name is Edward T. Rodriguez, I am born and raised in Carlsbad as a Caveman. I attended public school at Hillcrest Elementary, Alta Vista Jr. High, Carlsbad Mid High & graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1978. My post-secondary education includes Studies at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM; College of the Southwest in Hobbs, where I earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree; & New Mexico State University where I earned a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration.
I am happily married to my beautiful wife Therese, for more years than she will allow me to print! We have two adult sons both living in Fort Worth; our eldest, Jermaine, married to Jessica, and our youngest Jayce. We are also proud grandparents to Dexter and Mina Rodriguez.
I retired from the Carlsbad Municipal School district in 2007, after 27 years of service. I then worked for Constructors Incorporated from 2007 to 2012 and as of 2012 I am presently employed as Safety and Compliance Officer by the following three companies, SB Weed LLC, SB Oil field Services LLC, and Branson Rentals LLC.
I have served as a volunteer coach for Little League, Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad, CARC Special Olympics, Elks Little Cavemen Football, Connie Mack Baseball, PR LeyvaMiddle School Basketball & Football, as well as Cavemen Baseball. I have served on the City of Carlsbad Bob Forrest Youth Sports
Complex Committee, Planning and Zoning Committee, and the Oil & Gas Ordinance Committee. I also served as an AWARE Board Member, 1989 Class Act Board Member, Boys & Girls Club Sports Advisory Committee, and continue to serve the Southeastern New Mexico Roadway Safety Integrated Program.
