BE A FRIEND OF THE LIBRARY

Friends of the Carlsbad Public Library partner with Carlsbad Public Library for volunteer opportunities and to help fundraise to support the library and its programs.The Friends of the Library are loyal supporters and volunteers of our library. They welcome donations of clean, gently used books, paperbacks and magazines. These items are sold for donations in the library lobby or held for their annual book sale. All the money collected is returned to the library in various ways. To Join stop by the library to fill out an application. There is an annual fee.

TAG (Teen Advisory Group)

TAG, or the “Teen Advisory Group,” offers an opportunity for students in grades six through twelve to learn library tasks, perform meaningful volunteer work, and enjoy age-appropriate activities such as book discussions under the supervision of the Youth Services Librarian.

Carlsbad Community Foundation

Several generous donors have set up Library Funds with the Carlsbad Community Foundation.

The Carlsbad Community Foundation is a charitable nonprofit organization that promotes and enhances the lives of people in Carlsbad and South Eddy County. The Foundation was established in 1978 and has been a primary supporter of education, arts and humanities health and human services and other key issues for nearly four decades.

At the core of our organization are the generous donors, who over the years have directed their charitable giving towards endowment funds to address present and future needs.

Current Funds with the Foundation are:

George and Amy Bond Memorial Public Library Fund

Ralph and Marjorie Roe Library Reserve Fund

Richard and Mary Fielder Carlsbad Public Library Fund

Robert and Sarah Jackson Library Fund Public Library Fund

Volunteer Work

Volunteer at the Library. The gift of time is a great way to give back to your library. We are always looking for energetic teen and adults to work with us at the library. If you have questions or want to donate your time call us at (575) 885-6776.

Welcome to the Children’s Library

We have many resources that are great for any family. We have many AWE computers open for children to learn, play and grow. Books, games, puzzles, and STEAM kits for families to checkout and continue to learn, play and grow at home. We also have programming year round from birth to sixth grade.

Welcome to the Teen’s Library

We have many resources that are great for teens. Come enjoy our Teen Zone that is reserved just for 13-18 year old students. Three computers are available for research, homework, or entertainment. Books, and graphic novels are available to enjoy in the library or for check out for any library card holders.
