Residential Trash Service Days:


Regular household trash is collected from rollouts on the following schedule:


- Locations north of Mermod St. are collected on Mondays and Thursdays.

- Locations south of Mermod St. are collected on Tuesdays and Fridays.


Please ensure your unblocked rollout is out at the curb NO LATER than 6AM.

City of Carlsbad Solid Waste Services

To more effectively serveourcommunity and remain in compliance with Chapter 44 of the City of Carlsbad Code of Ordinances, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Trash Placement: Place your unblocked rollout or bulky waste grappler pick-up at the curb in front of your property, not on your neighbor’s.
  2. Yard Waste: Place bagged or boxed weeds, grass clippings, and leaves for collection. Uncontained materials will notbe picked up.
  3. Branches and Tree Trunks: Cut tree branches and trunks to a maximum length of 4 feet and bundle them properly.
  4. Fire Hazards: Do not put hot ashes, fireworks, or oily materials in your rollout. Place any ashes in a metal bucket with water and let them sit for 2 days before placing them in a bag.
  5. Construction Debris: Do not put concrete, dirt, gravel, remodeling waste, carpets, or roofing materials out for collection. These must be taken to Sandpoint Landfill by you or your contractor.
  6. No Car Parts: Do not place car body parts or tires for collection. Disposeof these atSandpoint Landfill, aconvenience station, or a recycling center yourself.
  7. Separate Tree Limbs: Separate tree limbs from other trash, as they maybe processedinto mulch for composting and landscaping purposes.If any of these rulesare not followed, the Solid Waste Department may deem it necessary to skip your pick-up request.

Please note, when a grappler request is made, it may take up to 5 business days for pickup once the request has been received.
