Adjourn|0:59:35 Motion|0:59:41 Vote|1:00:02 Stop Audio Recording&Details= Invocation – Pledge of Allegiance ||The motion was made by Councilor Rodriguez and seconded by Councilor Anaya Flores to approve the Agenda|The vote was as follows: Yes - Chavez, Carter, Estrada, Rodriguez, Shirley, Waters, Walterscheid, Anaya Flores; No - None; Absent- None; the motion carried.|| He said the Council is being asked to consider a Resolution making the City of Carlsbad a Second Amendment Sanctuary City. He added numerous cities and counties across New Mexico, including Eddy County, have passed similiar Ordinances. Mayor Janway explained that the Govenor contacted elected officials to state her views on Senate Bill 8 and city staff has passed out the letter provided by the Governors office. Mayor Janway said he and Council consider it extremely important to follow the U.S. Constitution at all times and this Resolution is a symbolic statement to make that obligation clear. He said the City of Carlsbad is seeking to declare opposition to any current or future unconstitutional infridgments upon Second Amendment Rights. ||The individuals who spoke in favor of the Resolution are: State Representative Jim Townsend, State Representative Cathryn Brown, Sherrif Mark Cage, Police Chief Shane Skinner, Greg Bland, John Burke, Christina Mann, Michael Harris, Mark Johnson, Karla Dyess, Janice Winton, Kelly Wixom, Robert Jesse, Chris Johnson, Dale Jamison, Buzz Sexton, Shawna Somora, Dean Hammer, Lowe Jones, and Bob Sullivan. All of these individuals spoke about being in favor of the Resolution and preserving gun rights and protecting their constitutional rights. Mr. Sullivan presented the Council with 1094 signatures of citizens in the community who could not attend but are all in favor of the Resolution.|||||Mr. Harbough read a statement signed by himself, Rev. Marty Singleterry, Rev. Dave Rogers, Rev. Nick \26 Rhonda King, and Rev.
