City of Carlsbad Announces National Library Week, April 7-13

This week, in honor of National Library Week, the Carlsbad Public Library will host our usual Amnesty Week, where patrons may return overdue library materials without paying fines. While the amnesty does not apply for lost or damaged items, it does encourage patrons to return overdue items to the library, thus ensuring they are available for other patrons to checkout and enjoy.

We will also waive the replacement library card fee of $5.00, so youngsters and their families can replace lost cards in preparation for summer reading programs and reading goals.

The Friends of the Library will also be hosting some fun games in the library like Guess How Many Books are on the Library Shelves and Pen a Poem for Our Poet-Tree in the lobby. The Poet-Tree is up, and will probably remain for the month of April, since it is Poetry Month, too. There are two guessing games – one for adults and one for children. They will go all week, with the two closest winners being determined on Saturday, April 13 at 6:00 p.m.
