"Public Works and Utilities Department Working
Together for a Better Carlsbad"
Location: 1702 West Fox Street
The City of Carlsbad Public Works Department includes
a staff of 137 full time employees. The Department provides
maintenance for 162 miles of city streets, 147 pieces of rolling
stock, 500 acres of parks, 2 golf courses, and 40 city buildings
and other structures. In addition, the Public Works Department
provides renovation services for City facilities, as well
as construction services for numerous in-house projects.
The department is responsible for several areas
of City services, including:
In the area of utilities, the Public Works Department provide
safe drinking water, sewer collection, wastewater treatment,
refuse collection and disposal and recycling collection services
for the City. Additionally, the Public Works Department
provides drinking water services to La Huerta and non-potable
water to commercial and industrial operations around Maljamar,
NM, including Brantley Lake State Park and the WIPP site.
