Cave
and Karst Research Institute
The
City of Carlsbad is the chosen site for the National Cave and Karst
Research Institute. The institute will serve as the national research
center in furthering the science of speleology, promoting public
education in the science, and fostering interdisciplinary cooperation
in cave and karst research. A centralized library of speleological
information will also be a part of the institute. The National Park
Service and the City are finalizing details of the facility. The
construction is estimated to begin late Fall to early Spring.
